Who we are
The Oncologist Speaks (theoncologistspeaks.com) is the website of Dr. Kushal Rizal, Consultant Medical Oncologist at Purbanchal Cancer Hospital, Birtamode, Nepal. This page explains what information the website handles and how medical reports you send to Dr. Rizal are treated.
Questions about privacy: theoncologistspeaks@gmail.com or WhatsApp +977-9705243015.
What this website collects
- No accounts, no forms that store data. Nothing you type on this website is saved on our server.
- No cookies, analytics or advertising trackers at present. If advertising is added to the Recent developments in oncology section (see below), this page will be updated first.
- One small setting in your own browser. The site remembers, for the current browser tab only, that you have already seen the opening animation. It never leaves your device and is cleared when you close the tab.
- Hosting. The website is delivered by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address and browser type to deliver and protect the site. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
When you contact Dr. Rizal
- Phone and WhatsApp: +977-9705243015. The “Let's talk” box on the home page only prepares a WhatsApp message on your device. Nothing is stored on this website; once you press send, the message is handled by WhatsApp (Meta) under its own terms.
- Email: theoncologistspeaks@gmail.com and kushal.riz@gmail.com, provided by Google (Gmail).
- Use these channels only for appointments, consultations and second opinions. They are not monitored for emergencies.
Your medical reports
Before a consultation you may be asked to send previous treatment records: pathology reports, scans and their reports, discharge summaries and prescriptions.
- Purpose: your records are used only to assess your case and give you a consultation or second opinion.
- Who sees them: only Dr. Kushal Rizal. No assistant or other staff has access.
- Sharing: your records are not shared with anyone else without your consent, except where the law requires it (for example, a court order) or, with your agreement, to coordinate your care with your treating doctors.
- Where they are kept: in WhatsApp on Dr. Rizal's phone, in his Gmail account, and as printed or downloaded copies kept by him.
- How long: records from an online consultation or second opinion are deleted, and printed copies destroyed, 6 months after your last consultation, unless you remain under Dr. Rizal's care.
- Sending on behalf of a family member? Please do so with their knowledge and consent.
- Send only what is needed, and avoid sharing reports in group chats.
Advertising
Advertisements may appear only in the Recent developments in oncology section, from Google (AdSense) and from sponsors who advertise directly. No other page on this website shows ads. Ads are clearly labelled and kept separate from medical content.
- Google ads: third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this website or other websites. Google's advertising cookies let Google and its partners show you ads based on your visits to this and other sites on the internet.
- You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google's Ads Settings, and opt out of some other vendors' cookies at aboutads.info/choices.
- Direct sponsors: these ads are simple images or links and do not use tracking cookies.
- If other ad networks are added, they will be named here with links to opt out.
- Advertisers never receive your medical reports or messages.
Your choices
- Ask what records we hold about you.
- Ask for a correction or for your records to be deleted, unless we must keep them by law.
- Withdraw consent for further use of your records at any time.
Send your request to theoncologistspeaks@gmail.com or WhatsApp +977-9705243015. We will reply within 15 days.

Children
Consultations for patients under 18 should be arranged by a parent or guardian, who sends the records on the child's behalf.
